100% natural and Top-Tier Design: We dare say it’s the only one of its kind with a sound absorption class A, αw = 1,0
All our acoustic panels are made from jute fibers and natural latex. To enhance the surface, we add coarse wool or coconut fibers for a beautiful finish. Coarse wool and coconut fibers are upcycled materials that otherwise have no current use. If you prefer another color than bleaced or black, we use a regular fine wool, which is not upcycled.
Sound absorption is measured in accordance with ISO 354. Sound absorption data αp, αw and absorption class are calculated in accordance with ISO 11654.
For HUBBUB Acoustic Panel, 40 mm base panel (only jute fibers and natural latex).
The GHG emissions, capture and storage per kg. panel are:
The panels weight is 10,54 kg./m2. Thus the GHG emissions, capture and storage per m² are:
Please see the calculationshere.
We have not calculated the GHG emissions for the surfaces made of coarse and fine wool or coconut fibers, as they constitute a small part of the panels and have no significant impact on the overall calculations.
You will not get anything into your body when installing or living with our panels. Materials does not give any measurable VOC emissions.
Contributes to a vital income for the farmers producing our natural jute fibers and the small factories manufacturing the panels and surfaces in India.
The lifespan of the product is estimated to be 50+ years. To maximize durability, you can consider to protect the panel from direct sunlight and high humidity.
If the surface made of wool, jute or coconut fades or gets damaged over time, you can replace it. We are working on a replacement kit that can be used for this purpose. We expect it to be fully developed by 2026.
All our surfaces are water-repellent, and if the panel gets wet, it will dry again naturally. Easy to clean: Simply vacuum the surface using a nozzle with soft bristles.
Directly mounted, the panel can be used in areas that are exposed to impacts and blows to some degrees. The panel and its tightly woven surface provide good resistance to perforation.
The coconut fiber collection cannot be used in areas that are exposed to impacts and blows like in kindergartens, schools, sports arenas etc.
If the panels are damaged and can not be repaired, you have two possibilities:
Like all natural and bio-based materials, every HUBBUB Acoustic Panel comes with unique variations brought to life by its blended organic origins of coarse or fine wool or coconut fibers. The surface finish may contain minor variations, making each piece authentically and uniquely imperfect. So does the thickness and weight.
In the summer of 2023 Peter Dagø, Philip Kruse, Henrik Pedersen, Niels Peter Andersen and Lars Andersen set out to revolutionize the world of acoustic materials and technologies. Their shared mission was to create a global acoustic brand dedicated to improving conditions for people around the world. Later, Vivek Kollamkulankara Vasudevan and Thomas Snaidero joined the team. Since then, we have been collaborating in our innovation HUBBUB Lab, working alongside our partners in India, Germany, Italy and Austria to explore new materials for acoustic panels and sound technologies.
Our showroom and office is located in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. You’re always welcome to visit us – just let us know in advance!
