HUBBUB develops natural surfaces where materiality, function and architecture are considered as part of the same whole.
Our approach is based on open fibre structures that allow the surface to work with the material or system behind it – whether acoustic or non-acoustic.
Rather than defining the function of the final solution, our materials are designed to integrate with it. This allows the same natural material expression to be used across acoustic systems, walls, ceilings, furniture and other architectural applications.

HUBBUB was founded with the ambition to bring natural materials into architecture in a way that combines material expression with technical function.
We act as a material specialist and development partner for architects, designers and manufacturers.
Our role is to develop, supply and document natural surfaces for integration into professional products, systems and architectural projects.
We work particularly closely with acoustic manufacturers, where ESSENCE can become the natural surface of an existing or newly developed acoustic system.
Not a total supplier – but a specialised material partner.
PRODUCTION & STRUCTURE
Rooted in the material
ESSENCE is produced close to the source of its natural fibres in India, combining material knowledge with specialised production processes.
Development, testing and final preparation are coordinated from Denmark in close collaboration with our production and technical partners.
This allows us to work directly with the material from fibre to finished surface – while maintaining the consistency and precision required for architectural applications.

DESIGN & INNOVATION
Materials should integrate naturally into architecture.
This philosophy is expressed through ESSENCE – a collection of natural surfaces developed to combine material expression with technical function.
Rather than designing a surface around one specific function, we develop open material structures that can become part of different products, systems and architectural applications.
In acoustic applications, ESSENCE allows the system behind the surface to provide the acoustic performance while the surface creates the material and visual expression. The same surface can continue across non-acoustic areas, creating a consistent architectural language.
Our development therefore begins with the material itself – its fibres, structure, tactility and possibilities – and continues through integration, testing and documentation.
